i agree with denise, someone should publish your yearly oscar wrap-up. I enjoy your oscar posts more than the show itself!

Markita and Javier rocked.

I wish I could watch the Oscars with you! My friend Angie and I watched them together, as best we could with Little Wiggly up and about. There were so many movies we didn't see, and we've decided to become movie buddies and leave the boy with the grown-up boys.

Also, next year, we are definitely having champagne.

I thought Javier Bardem was oh so yummy as well. Definitely a new crush for me. I thought that at least Miley Cyrus looked appropriate for her age - not too revealing, but cute and yet dressy. Still, I have NO IDEA why that child was at the Oscars.

How can you not love the "once" couple? I blogged about it, too the next day--- it was the best Oscar moment ever, for me-- when she said, "make art, make art!"

Eileen

Loving Johnny Depp and Sweeney Todd too. We were keeping our Fingers crossed so tight here. My oldest was close to tears when he didn't win. He is amazing!
Love your observations!

darlene

definitely the best speech of the night and yes, her dress did look like scales, it bothered me and laura linney, gorgeous as usual. i loved your list!! though i have to say i loved kidman's freaky necklace for some strange reason ...

claire

lol......I think I get more out of reading your excitement for the Oscars than watching them!!

Lizzie

I liked the Oscars this year, too, and agree with much of what you said. I like to follow what's happening in the entertainment world and I really wished I was able to see any of the nominated films. It's not that I don't want to, I just don't have the time! My one comment is about what you said regarding Ellen Page & Miley Cyrus. Ellen Page is 21 and I thought she looked entirely age-appropriate. Miley Cyrus is 16 and aside from the Disney connection that existed for her to introduce a song from "Enchanted", I just didn't think she needed to be there. My two cents!

i am cracking up!

and george clooney...nope, i don't think the man could ever look bad...

i cringed at a few things jon stewart said, i must admit. but he did have some funny moments...and i love him...but i just didn't love some of the things he said...

maybe you need another johnny depp 'what does a man have to do to get an oscar" blog...seriously...seriously... :)

much love,
liz

boho girl

i look forward to your account of the Oscars every year.

you should seriously do a column on this. ; )

love you.

I love your analysis of the Oscars - obviously a TRUE fan!! It was a great night and I agree with many of your comments ... I too was itching to fix Nicole Kidman's freaky necklace - WTF?? JP/deb

Kerstin

I agree, I also thought that Marketa's acceptance speech was the best, it was wonderfully refreshing and unpretentious. But Michelle, I can't believe you didn't even mention Helen Mirren? I love her and I thought she looked amazing in that red dress with the Swarowski sleeves. She has class. When I grow up I want to be like her! :)

ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.

Have I told you lately that you are adorable and I love you??

I don't get the Oscars here and that's tragic. You fixed it for me!!
