I Wear...
- a lot of black and white...I have more white shirts and black pants/skirts than anything...I'm just a black & white kinda gal
- Converse tennies whenever I can...I only have a pair of black but I'd also like a red pair, a white pair, and a brown pair I recently saw and really liked
- t-shirts...with skirts, slacks, and jeans...my favorite brand is the GAP...they're so soft and snuggly...more expensive but worth every penny
- my hair in a ponytail on days I'm really tired...or really lazy
- chipped red polish on my toenails
- glasses...but not in most photos due to the glare
- a little ginger behind each ear and on each wrist
- Arbonne…when I can afford it
- Maybeline, Cover Girl and other cheap brands when I can’t afford it
- my age on my face...especially around my eyes and mouth...and hands
- my emotions all over my face...I can't hide a thing
- a shyness that can sometimes isolate me from others
- the IPEX...although I'm not sure it's worth all that money
- today, a little bit of heaviness and tiredness in my shoulders
- panty hose with my skirts and dresses…I have too...my legs are THAT white...and I actually don’t mind them…I like the way they smooth everything out
- self-tanner…because once again, my legs are WHITE
- a few bruises here and there that I’ve picked up along the way without really knowing how
- a little guardedness
- an ache that keeps me searching for something I choose to call God
- kisses from a 4-year-old when I can get them
- a hunger to be seen and known...which drives me to blog
- my emotions tucked right under the surface...there, but not always obvious
- freckles that I don't try to hide
- Alba lip gloss...because it's so yummy I could eat it right off the stick
- flats over heels...although I really do prefer heels (they're more sexy)...but it's a comfort thing
- these red heels when I want to feel sassy
- and these red heels when I want to feel extra sexy
- three tattoos
- earrings when I think about...but very little other jewelry...not because I don't like it (I do), I just don't remember to put it on
- a jean jacket when I'm chilly...from the GAP
- the memory of who I used to be, the satisfaction of who I am, and the dream of who I am becoming
What are you wearing today?

I love your honest "laundry list"
I kept mine short but I think it's good to do a little summing up - more for oneself than anyone else!

i too love your glasses and your converse sneakers and your ability to make poetry of this list.
today i'm wearing a frown after reading too many cases of violence against women, and new stripy woollen socks that are tyring valiently to make me smile again. they'll win in the end.

You are wonderful and gorgeous!!! What a list! I think the only thing that would make that list more perfect would be a rock and roll t-shirt! (Because you ARE rock and roll!!)
Love you!

The depth and richness of what you wear touches me. Thank you for sharing this, letting me get to know you better, and for making me think more deeply about what I'll wear today.
I've finally let go of the self-tanner and pantyhose and embraced the glow. Of course, I don't wear shorts or show too much leg in skirts - that would be just cruel to the people who are blinded by the white flash. ;)

I see so much of B. in those last picture... or see how much he looks like you.

hmm. at the mo' i am wearing the most comfy (and nasty-looking :S) pair of men's pajama pants from joe boxer. field and i got matching pairs. two of my usual rings (i usually wear 5), and my "om" necklace. a perfume that i wouldn't have picked out for myself but i wear because field gave it to me for my last year's....birthday? or was it christmas? (babyphat. if you look on their website you will see a pink bottle inlaid with cheap rhinestones. YUP. furthest from me, stylewise, but what i wear.)
my eyes are starting to look old, i feel you.
aroma creme by lush. THE BEST natural deodorant, and fairly inexpensive.
lime green converse.
daisy kisses on my face, bean (cat hair)snuggles on my back...
bruises from when i rolled down a hill at my birthday party...
five tattoos (one massively large)
and my heart on my sleeve.
(but there's this ani difranco lyric that i love instead, but it's so not me...it goes, "i wear my heart underneath my right pant leg/strapped to my boot".)
i guess i wear a tendency to want to be tougher than i am...lol...
this was a great post, michelle. thanks so much. much love.

this is soooo fabulous! I am black and white girl too... and a ONE color wearer ... I know, boring ;) but it comforts me somehow.
So last week the new young gossip columnist from NY came to visit us and her legs must have been 7 ft long, and she had on hot pants. Brown, beautiful shapely legs. And I was feeling bad about wearing light linen pants in October. Someone commented about how cool her blouse was and I said, honestly I never got past the hot pants, I couldnt tell you what she looked like or what her blouse looked like. Of course every male in the place was all a ga ga ... so some of the girls later suggested (after she left the state) that we have a HOT PANT friday ... instead of dress up friday or casual friday. Then we suggested that it would be even more enjoyable if the guys wore thongs .... ;)
